Police at a sobriety checkpoint set up on Highway 111 the other night arrested 10 people. Of the 900+, cars that passed through, 27 field sobriety tests were conducted. A breakdown of the 10 arrests is as follows: 1 driver was driving under the influence of alcohol/drugs, eight drivers drove without a license or on a suspended one, and one had an outstanding warrant. In addition, nine vehicles were impounded.
It was a busy night for Rancho Mirage police but a safer night for Rancho Mirage residents.
