A woman called the Palm Springs police early the other morning after a man broke into her apartment through a window and tried to rape her.
The woman told police that she managed to fight off the man, escape to a neighbor’s apartment and call the police for help. She suffered minor injuries in the attack.
A report describes the wanted man to be about 20 to 25 years old, white, clean-shaven, short dark hair, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and about 130 pounds. When he broke into the apartment, he was wearing a red t-shirt with some kind of black design on the front. Police are searching for this man.

As a reminder, the Labor Day weekend is upon us and California freeways are usually full with vehicles going out of town. I hope no one plans on drinking and driving. However, for those in the Coachella Valley, police will be holding a sobriety checkpoint on Friday and Saturday night at undisclosed locations.
Vehicles will be stopped between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. to check the driver’s sobriety and their license. The City of Coachella wants to reduce the number of injuries and death resulting from driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Drinking and driving is against the law. Not only can you hurt yourself, but you can hurt or kill someone else.

The other day, in the middle of the afternoon, in the middle of a busy intersection, a 17-year old boy was hit by an automobile while cycling through the intersection. The boy was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Police are investigating what happened.
I hope that the boy will be okay but if something serious turns up, it would be wise for him and his family to seek the advice of an experienced local Personal Injury attorney who will make sure he receives compensation for his medical expenses.

A hit-and-run driver who allegedly caused a multi-vehicle crash in Murrieta that killed three people has not been found. A small group recently gathered to mourn the loss of a young girl and her uncle who were among the victims killed. The girl was due to graduate from 5th grade in June.
Police are looking for a man reported to have been driving erratically in the area. The mother of this young girl is hoping the driver will come forward. Police are looking for a black Honda or Acura with tinted windows and spinner wheels driven by a white male about 20-25 with short dark hair, clean-shaven and a tattoo on his left forearm. The description was given to the police by an eyewitness.
The police are asking for anyone with information to step forward and call 951-769-2000.
How sad for the family of these victims.
