A woman involved in a head-on collision in Moreno Valley recently has sustained injuries. Officers are not certain why one of the vehicles veered into oncoming traffic. I wish this woman a speedy recovery from her injuries.
California Vehicle Code Section 21651(a) states, “Whenever a highway has been divided into two or more roadways by means of intermittent barriers or by means of a dividing section of not less than two feet in width, either unpaved or delineated by curbs, double-parallel lines, or other markings on the roadway, it is unlawful… to drive any vehicle over, upon, or across the dividing section.”
An investigation is underway to determine if alcohol was a factor in this accident or if negligence played a part. An at-fault driver can be held liable for injuries and/or damaged caused and can also face criminal charges.
If you are a victim of a head-on collision or any type of collision, you may be able to receive compensation for your medical expenses and other related damages. Contact an experienced Personal Injury attorney who will investigate for you and make sure that the negligent party is held responsible.

A 32-year old man who lost control of his minivan on Interstate 10 in Palm Springs, not only broke his leg, but the accident caused a 2-year old boy’s arm to break, a 5-year old girl’s leg to break, and a 6-year old boy and 35-year old woman to suffer head injuries.
The California Highway Patrol arrested him for drug intoxication combined with a treat separation on the left-rear tire, and negligence. Because of his broken leg, he was taken to a local hospital and not jail. The tire problem caused him to lose control; however, toxicology reports will determine the extent of his DUI charges.
Until the reports are issued, he will most probably face felony driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and felony child endangerment charges. I would suggest he contact an experienced and knowledgeable Riverside County Criminal Law attorney as soon as possible because these charges should not be taken lightly.

A 23-year old Canyon Lake man who pleaded not guilty to felony charges in a hit-and-run accident with an off-duty Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputy and his pregnant wife were sentenced to nine months behind bars. Apparently he was driving at about 100 mph when he rear-ended the vehicle. A high school principal and assistant principal were also driving on the freeway when they hit debris from the crash, causing their vehicle to roll over. The Canyon Lake driver fled the scene but was caught by another deputy.
The sentence included one count of driving under the influence and 90 days for a second count. The man was charged with driving under the influence with injury and had a blood alcohol level that was higher than the legal limit.

Did you hear about the recent Moreno Valley 3-automobile accident on Cottonwood Avenue where one person was killed and two injured? It seems the driver of a black Honda was driving erratically – weaving in and out of traffic. It cut-off or hit a Ford Explorer, causing the Ford to swerve into oncoming traffic, hitting a Nissan minivan head-on.
The 54-year old woman driver of the Ford was taken to a local hospital where she died from injuries sustained in the accident. A male passenger in this vehicle sustained a broken ankle and the male driver of the Nissan complained of chest pains. They were taken to a local hospital and treated for their injuries. According to witnesses and investigators, the black Honda fled the scene.
Police are still investigating this accident. They ask anyone with information to contact them at 951-486-6700. My sympathies go out to the family of the driver of the Ford Explorer, a woman who was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Have you ever been walking along and trip on absolutely nothing? You look around but there is nothing on the ground. I do not know anyone who has not done that at one time or another. However, if you fall because of the negligence of another person, that can be the basis for a slip and fall claim.
A slip and fall injury claim is not easy to prove; it is complicated and complex. For example, if you fall in a grocery store, you must show that the owner of the store knew about the condition and did nothing to fix it.
An experienced Slip and Fall injury attorney, one that knows all about slip and fall accidents, gets the job done – knows how to negotiate settlements with the insurance company.
