According to the Riverside County Coroner’s office, the year ended fatally for a 34-year old man when he crashed his motorcycle near Lake Elsinore recently.

Motorcycle riders are exposed to the possibility of great bodily harm or death when a motorcycle collision occurs.

Apparently he hit the gas pedal too hard, causing his two friends riding behind him to lose sight of him.  An off-duty firefighter saw him lose control as he drove on a sweeping curve and go over an embankment.  The sudden move caused him to be thrown from his motorcycle as it struck a tree stump.

He was taken to a local hospital where he died shortly after.  If you are injured in a motorcycle accident, contact an experienced Riverside Personal Injury attorney who knows how to best represent and protect your interests – who can help you obtain compensation for your losses.

A man in his 30’s lost control of his vehicle the other morning, causing it to roll over.  He was alone in his vehicle.  Officials stated that he suffered bruises, abrasions and contusions.  In addition there was the possibility of respiratory problems affecting his lung.  He was taken by helicopter to a nearby trauma center.

Police are investigating to determine what caused him to roll over; he was driving 40 mph at the time of the accident.  They may find out there was a mechanical defect or something in the road.

I urge this man to seek the guidance of an experienced Riverside County Personal Injury attorney who will investigate for him to see if he is entitled to compensation for his injuries and medical expenses.

A 49-year old Cathedral City man is facing felony charges because he allegedly was under the influence of alcohol when he lost control and crashed his SUV, killing his 55-year old passenger and critically injuring himself.  He was speeding when his vehicle jumped a curb and crashed into a tree and then came to a stop in a fence.

The driver was hospitalized for about two weeks.  Once he was released, police arrested him.  He is being charged with DUI gross vehicular manslaughter and can face between four and ten years in prison if convicted.  The driver and the passenger were not wearing seatbelts.

I hope they contact an experienced Riverside County Criminal Law attorney to discuss their options – to see if they can file a wrongful death lawsuit against the driver.

A 29-year old police officer was killed when he lost control of his squad car and crashed into a palm tree; he was chasing a parolee who was driving a stolen vehicle.  The police car caught on fire; the officer was pronounced dead at the scene.

The officer, who had been a Cathedral City police officer for 18 months, had been a Marine in the Iraq War; and had earned a Purple Heart.  How sad that this young hero survived a war and died chasing a car thief.

The parolee and another suspect were hospitalized with major injuries.

I hope they contact an experienced Riverside County Personal Injury attorney to see if they can file a wrongful death claim.  The officer left behind a 4-week old baby.

On the night of July 11, 49-year old man was riding his motorcycle on Interstate 10 near Highland Springs Avenue when traffic came to an abrupt stop.  The man’s motorcycle skidded and swerved as he tried to stop, but he lost control and crashed – throwing him onto the pavement.  He was not wearing a helmet that covered his face.

Banning police are investigating this accident to determine what caused the man to lose control of his motorcycle.  A number of factors are being investigated, which include a mechanical malfunction, something in the road and drugs or alcohol.

Statistics from 2008 indicate that 32 people died and about 600 people were injured from motorcycle accidents in Riverside County.  My condolences go out to the family of the man for their tragic loss.  I would advise them to contact an experienced Personal Injury attorney so he or she can investigate the accident and advise them of their legal rights and how to proceed.
