According to the Riverside County Coroner’s office, the year ended fatally for a 34-year old man when he crashed his motorcycle near Lake Elsinore recently.
Motorcycle riders are exposed to the possibility of great bodily harm or death when a motorcycle collision occurs.
Apparently he hit the gas pedal too hard, causing his two friends riding behind him to lose sight of him. An off-duty firefighter saw him lose control as he drove on a sweeping curve and go over an embankment. The sudden move caused him to be thrown from his motorcycle as it struck a tree stump.

A 47-year old man was killed in Lake Elsinore when his vehicle was broadsided by a pickup truck at an intersection recently.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after.

Three people out for a drive in Lake Elsinore the other day were injured when the vehicle struck a tree after the driver lost control.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department believes the driver may have fled the scene. The three passengers were transported to a local hospital and treated for injuries ranging from minor to life-threatening.
The accident is under investigation. Police are looking for the driver of the vehicle and are asking any witnesses who may have seen the driver to contact them.

A 49-year old man crossing at an intersection in Lake Elsinore recently was hit by a truck that did not stop. The man was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.
Witnesses informed the police that the hit-and-run vehicle was a pickup truck that may have damage to its front fender. They went on to say that not only did the truck hit and kill the man, but it left him lying on the roadway without calling for help. California Vehicle Code 20001 states that, if you are involved in an accident where someone is injured, you are required to stop your car at the scene and call for help.”

A Norco man was arrested over the weekend on suspicion of boating under the influence. He lost control while on Lake Elsinore, causing the boat to flip over.
There were two passengers who landed in the water. All three were taken out of the water by passing boaters; no injuries were reported. Boat officials retrieved the boat, which had partially sunken, out of the water.

The Riverside County Coroner’s office reported that a 52-year old Wildomar man riding on his bike died the other night after being hit by an automobile in Lake Elsinore.
He was taken to Inland Valley Medical Center where he was declared dead. The cause of this accident is under investigation. My sincere condolences go out to his family on their tragic loss.

Lake Elsinore recently set up a drunken driving safety checkpoint at the intersection of Riverside Drive and Grand Avenue. Over fourteen hundred vehicles passed through it, 27 motorists were issued citations for vehicle code violations, 19 cars were impounded because the drivers did not have a valid license, and three men were arrested for drunken driving.
Over the past couple of years, nine people were killed and 13 injured in accidents involving drunken drivers in the Lake Elsinore area.
