A recent head-on collision on Interstate 215 took the lives of three people.

Apparently a Highway Patrol officer in pursuit of a 26-year old driver for a traffic violation caused the driver, who did not want to stop, to go the wrong way on the freeway off-ramp.  His actions caused him to collide head-on with another vehicle, killing the driver and his two passengers.

California Highway Patrol officers are investigating this accident; however, it appears that the first driver is at fault since he drove on the wrong side of the freeway while trying to flee form the police.

I hope the families of these three victims contact an experienced Riverside Personal Injury attorney who can advise them of their legal rights and the best course of action to take in order to be compensated for their loss and any expenses incurred.

The morning commute was a complete mess in Indio the other day.  A woman driving west in the eastbound lanes on Interstate 10 in collided head-on with a big-rig carrying electronic equipment.

According to the Riverside County Coroner’s office, she died several minutes later.  The truck driver was not injured.  Both vehicles caught fire; the Riverside County firefighters were at the scene.

The fatal accident closed all the eastbound lanes and one westbound lane for most of the morning.

The California Highway Patrol officers are investigating to determine what caused the woman to be driving the wrong way.  They are checking to see if alcohol was a factor.

I hope they contact an experienced Riverside County Personal Injury attorney to investigate the accident for them.  Perhaps there was a mechanical malfunction that caused her to lose control?

A woman involved in a head-on collision in Moreno Valley recently has sustained injuries.  Officers are not certain why one of the vehicles veered into oncoming traffic.  I wish this woman a speedy recovery from her injuries.

California Vehicle Code Section 21651(a) states, “Whenever a highway has been divided into two or more roadways by means of intermittent barriers or by means of a dividing section of not less than two feet in width, either unpaved or delineated by curbs, double-parallel lines, or other markings on the roadway, it is unlawful… to drive any vehicle over, upon, or across the dividing section.”

An investigation is underway to determine if alcohol was a factor in this accident or if negligence played a part.  An at-fault driver can be held liable for injuries and/or damaged caused and can also face criminal charges.

If you are a victim of a head-on collision or any type of collision, you may be able to receive compensation for your medical expenses and other related damages.  Contact an experienced Personal Injury attorney who will investigate for you and make sure that the negligent party is held responsible.

A 12-year old girl was a passenger in a vehicle that, for unknown reasons, crossed into opposing lanes on State Route 76 the other evening – colliding head-on with another vehicle.  The young girl was not wearing her seatbelt, causing her to be thrown from the vehicle.  She was pronounced dead at the scene.  Both drivers were taken to a local hospital.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family after this tragic accident.
