For those of you needing a bike helmet, please note that helmets manufactured by Bell Sports are being recalled.  The company is recalling more than 30,000 full-face bike helmets.  The reason, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, – the plastic buckle that connects the chin straps can fail, causing the helmet to fall off.

These helmets were sold at Wal-Mart Stores and online at Amazon between August 2009 and March 2011 for between $50 and $60.

California Vehicle Code, Section 27803 states in part, “A driver and any passenger shall wear a safety helmet meeting requirements when riding on a motorcycle, motor-driven cycle, or motorized bicycle.  It is unlawful to operate any of the above vehicles if the driver or passenger is not wearing a safety helmet.”

If you were injured after your bicycle helmet manufactured by Bell Sports fell off, contact an experienced Riverside Personal Injury attorney who will look at your case and discuss your options with you.

According to the Palm Spring Police Department, a man in his late 70’s riding a bike was recently struck by a Super Shuttle airport van.  In the process of trying to avoid hitting the man, the van was hit by an automobile.

The man was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for serious head injuries.  No one else was injured.

My best wishes go out for this man and hope he has a speedy recovery.
