According to Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies, a woman sustained major injuries in a two-car crash in Moreno Valley the other day, including a possible severed arm. She had to be extricated from the wreckage. Witnesses said that a child in an infant seat was also in the vehicle; the child appeared to be unharmed.
The woman was taken to a local hospital; two other people were treated for minor injuries. Traffic was backed up for several hours while crews cleaned up shattered glass and car pieces from the streets.
The Riverside County Fire Department stated that the accident in under investigation to determine what happened. I would suggest that the injured parties contact an experienced Riverside County Personal Injury attorney to find out what their options are and to determine if they can be compensated for their injuries, damages and expenses.

Desert Hot Springs Police reported that a 73-year old man failed to yield the right-of-way to a vehicle driven by a 20-year old man, causing a collision that injured five people. One person sustained critical injuries, three suffered moderate injuries and one person had minor injuries.
The intersection where the collision occurred has stop signs. California Vehicle Code Section 21802(a) states, “The driver of any vehicle approaching a stop sign at the entrance to, or within, an intersection shall stop as required by Section 22450. The driver shall then yield the right-of-way to any vehicles which have approached from another highway, or which are approaching so closely as to constitute an immediate hazard, and shall continue to yield the right-of-way to those vehicles until he or she can proceed with reasonable safety”. This was not the case in this car accident.
I would strongly advise the injured parties to consult with an experienced Riverside County Personal Injury attorney because if the other driver is found to be at fault, he could be held liable for their injuries. The victims can receive compensation for their medical expenses and any other expenses incurred.

A 21-year old man who had been involved in a minor, non-injury car accident on the westbound side of the 10 Freeway in Banning the other morning was killed. After the car accident, he pulled off the road and walked to the side of the freeway.
Moments later, a Toyota Tundra, driven by a 23-year old, went out of control, spun around and hit the young man. He sustained fatal head injuries.
The police are investigating what caused the Toyota driver to lose control.

As a reminder, the Labor Day weekend is upon us and California freeways are usually full with vehicles going out of town. I hope no one plans on drinking and driving. However, for those in the Coachella Valley, police will be holding a sobriety checkpoint on Friday and Saturday night at undisclosed locations.
Vehicles will be stopped between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. to check the driver’s sobriety and their license. The City of Coachella wants to reduce the number of injuries and death resulting from driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Drinking and driving is against the law. Not only can you hurt yourself, but you can hurt or kill someone else.

The majority of car accidents are caused due to someone’s negligence or carelessness. This behavior normally results in an injury to another person. Examples include running a red light, speeding, not stopping at a stop sign or just not paying attention to the road.
Drivers need to use reasonable care when behind the wheel. If they cannot, they should not drive. Careless behavior can result in someone getting hurt or worse, death!
If you or anyone you know are in a car accident contact a Personal Injury Attorney to stand up for your rights.
