An SUV driver making a dangerous U-turn at a blind corner in Temecula’s wine country caused a motorcyclist to skid, crash into the back of the SUV, and suffer scrapes and bruises on his arms and torso.
The SUV driver left the scene while the motorcyclist was down on the road. Officers later found him and questioned him. It is not clear if he was arrested. Leaving the scene of an injury accident is against the law according to California Vehicle Code Section 20001(a) – “The driver of a vehicle involved in an accident resulting in injury to a person, other than himself or herself, or in the death of a person shall immediately stop the vehicle at the scene of the accident.”
In addition - California Vehicle Code Section 21801(a) states, The driver of a vehicle intending to turn to the left or to complete a U-turn upon a highway, or to turn left into public or private property, or an alley, shall yield the right-of-way to all vehicles approaching form the opposite direction which are close enough to constitute a hazard at any time during the turning movement, and shall continue to yield the right-of-way to the approaching vehicles until the left turn or U-turn can be made with reasonable safety.”

With more and more road work taking place on major freeways and roadways, injury accidents often happen in construction zones.
Drivers passing through construction zones can easily be distracted by the machinery and barricades along the way, leading to fender benders and injuries.
Drivers also have an expectation of safety despite the activity all around them. However, this is not always the case. Every year hundreds of people encounter hazards in construction zones that lead to accidents, injuries and sometimes death.
If you are involved in an accident within a construction zone, contact an experienced Riverside Personal Injury attorney who will fight to get you the maximum amount of financial compensation for your injuries and expenses.

I cannot stress enough to drive carefully when it is raining. Drivers tend to forget that since California does not get excessive rains, the roads are slippery when it does rain.
Riverside Police reported that a vehicle with several 20-year old men in it was speeding on a rain-slicked road the other afternoon. The car attempted to navigate an S-shaped curve when it began to slide, hit another vehicle going the opposite way, ran off the side of the road and stopped after it hit a post. One person sustained minor facial injuries.
The street was closed for a couple of hours while teams cleaned up the area.
If you are injured in an accident because another person was speeding on a rain-slicked road, contact an experienced Riverside Personal Injury attorney who will investigate to determine if you can be compensated for your injuries and expenses.
