A 53-year old Desert Hot Springs woman was arrested on fraud charges recently.

Reports indicate that she reported that her ATM card was stolen and used to withdraw money from a casino in Palm Springs.  She has been accused of withdrawing money from her bank account and then reporting it was stolen – in an attempt to be repaid by her bank for money she herself has.

An investigation determined that she was attempting to commit fraud; she was arrested and jailed in Banning.

If you are facing fraud charges, you are facing a white collar crime, which in many cases is considered a Federal crime.  Being charged with fraud is a serious legal problem and it is crucial you have legal representation.  It is strongly advised that you contact an experienced Riverside Criminal Law attorney who has been successful in defending fraud charges.

A 29-year old Banning man was arrested when over 8 grams of heroin fell out of his pants leg while talking to police officers.

The police then searched his vehicle and found 6 wrapped packages of heroin, a mini-scale, syringe, glass pipe coated with methamphetamine residue and several small baggies.

He was booked on suspicion of transporting and selling a controlled substance, possession of heroin, possession of methamphetamines and possession of instruments for smoking controlled substances.  He was being held in lieu of $25,000 bail.

This is a serious crime and he can be headed to jail for a very long time.  I would suggest he seek the help of an experienced Riverside County Criminal Law attorney who is familiar with possession of drugs charges.

The Riverside County Coroner’s office reported that a 56-year old Banning man died over the weekend when he was ejected from the SUV he was driving near San Jacinto.  Apparently, he lost control of the SUV, causing it to swerve off the road and overturn.

He was taken to a nearby hospital where he died.  The CHP is investigating the accident to determine what caused it.

A 21-year old man who had been involved in a minor, non-injury car accident on the westbound side of the 10 Freeway in Banning the other morning was killed.   After the car accident, he pulled off the road and walked to the side of the freeway.

Moments later, a Toyota Tundra, driven by a 23-year old, went out of control, spun around and hit the young man. He sustained fatal head injuries.

The police are investigating what caused the Toyota driver to lose control.
