An SUV driver making a dangerous U-turn at a blind corner in Temecula’s wine country caused a motorcyclist to skid, crash into the back of the SUV, and suffer scrapes and bruises on his arms and torso.

The SUV driver left the scene while the motorcyclist was down on the road.  Officers later found him and questioned him.  It is not clear if he was arrested.  Leaving the scene of an injury accident is against the law according to California Vehicle Code Section 20001(a) – “The driver of a vehicle involved in an accident resulting in injury to a person, other than himself or herself, or in the death of a person shall immediately stop the vehicle at the scene of the accident.”

In addition - California Vehicle Code Section 21801(a) states, The driver of a vehicle intending to turn to the left or to complete a U-turn upon a highway, or to turn left into public or private property, or an alley, shall yield the right-of-way to all vehicles approaching form the opposite direction which are close enough to constitute a hazard at any time during the turning movement, and shall continue to yield the right-of-way to the approaching vehicles until the left turn or U-turn can be made with reasonable safety.”

If you are injured by the negligent actions of another person, it would be wise to contact an experienced Riverside Personal Injury attorney who will make sure your legal rights are protected.

Did you hear about the Riverside driver whose car got stuck on the railroad tracks?  The crossing was marked as “closed for construction.”  It was lucky, though, because the driver got out of his vehicle before the train hit it.

Other motorists stopped to help him try and push the car off the tracks, but to no avail.  Can you imagine how he felt as he watched the train smash into his car, causing it to turn into a twisted pile of metal?  Again, he was lucky because he was not injured although he cannot say that about his car.  To make matters worse, he was still making payments on the car.

Reports indicate that no one on the train was injured.  However, if you are involved in an accident involving a train and you are injured, contact an experienced Riverside Personal Injury attorney to discuss your legal options.

According to Canyon Lake police, a driver was recently arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after he collided head-on with another vehicle.  The accident injured two people, including the suspected drunk driver.  Both drivers were taken to nearby hospitals with unspecified injuries.

California Vehicle Code Section 23152(a) states, “It is unlawful for any person who is under the influence of any alcoholic beverage or drug, or under the combined influence of any alcoholic beverage and drug, to drive a vehicle.”

Officers are investigating this accident to determine what caused it.  If the suspected drunk driver is found at fault, he can be held liable for injuries caused to the victim.  In addition, he is facing criminal charges.

If you are injured in an accident because of the negligent actions of another person, you should contact an experienced Riverside Personal Injury attorney who will investigate your case, protect your legal rights, and determine if you are entitled to compensation for your injuries and expenses.

An 84-year old Moreno Valley man who was standing next to his SUV at an exit on the Interstate 10 late the other night was hit by a tractor-trailer.

He was taken by air to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.

Investigators are not sure why this elderly man’s vehicle was stopped on the side of the road or why he was standing outside of it.  If they determine that the truck driver was negligent in some way, or he was distracted, he could be held civilly and financially liable for this tragic death.

If a loved one was involved in a fatal accident, contact an experienced and compassionate Riverside Personal Injury attorney who has been successful in wrongful death lawsuits and can advise you of your legal rights in pursuing a claim to recover compensation for your loss.

I cannot stress enough to drive carefully when it is raining.  Drivers tend to forget that since California does not get excessive rains, the roads are slippery when it does rain.

Riverside Police reported that a vehicle with several 20-year old men in it was speeding on a rain-slicked road the other afternoon. The car attempted to navigate an S-shaped curve when it began to slide, hit another vehicle going the opposite way, ran off the side of the road and stopped after it hit a post.  One person sustained minor facial injuries.

The street was closed for a couple of hours while teams cleaned up the area.

If you are injured in an accident because another person was speeding on a rain-slicked road, contact an experienced Riverside Personal Injury attorney who will investigate to determine if you can be compensated for your injuries and expenses.
