A 44-year old Riverside woman was killed after being hit by not one, but two vehicles while crossing a busy road the other evening. It is unclear if she was crossing in a marked crosswalk.
First, she was hit by a motorcycle. Minutes later a vehicle hit her. She sustained fatal injuries. The motorcyclist suffered scrapes, bruises and a few broken bones.
According to California Vehicle Code Section 21954, “Every pedestrian upon a roadway at any point other than within a marked crosswalk or within an unmarked crosswalk at an intersection shall yield the right-of-way to all vehicles upon the roadway so near as to constitute an immediate hazard.”
Officials are investigating what caused this fatal accident; however, no arrests have been made.

A ventilation fan inside a storage unit containing seeds at an Indio packaging plant caused a fire which resulted in the employees having to evacuate the building.

According to the Riverside County Coroner’s office, the year ended fatally for a 34-year old man when he crashed his motorcycle near Lake Elsinore recently.
Motorcycle riders are exposed to the possibility of great bodily harm or death when a motorcycle collision occurs.
