Narcotics investigators closed down a Beaumont marijuana dispensary this week, ending a 7-month investigation of the facility.

Previously, the City of Beaumont had fined the dispensary $600,000.  When investigators showed up the other day, they arrested five people for possession of marijuana, and seized unknown amounts of marijuana and hashish.  Four other locations were also raided; two turned out to be marijuana grow houses.

The City does not allow medical marijuana facilities; they have been fined $1,000 every day they maintained operations.  Now that the business has been identified as a criminal enterprise, it will be served a cease-and-desist notice.
If you are arrested for possession of marijuana, remember that medical marijuana is legal in California only for qualified individuals. Otherwise, possession is a misdemeanor crime and punishable by a possible jail sentence and fine.

I would suggest you contact an experienced Riverside County Criminal Law attorney who has a proven record of defending marijuana charges.  This is a serious offense.
